WAVE is a free web accessibility evaluation tool provided by WebAIM. It is used to aid humans in the web accessibility evaluation process. Rather than providing a complex technical report, WAVE shows the original web page with embedded icons and indicators that reveal the accessibility information within your page.

The WAVE Firefox toolbar allows you to evaluate web pages directly within your browser. Because no information is sent to the WAVE servers, the toolbar allows you to evaluate password protected, secure, or otherwise sensitive web content. The WAVE toolbar evaluates content as it is rendered within Firefox. This allows dynamically created, modified, or scripted content to be evaluated in real time.
If you'd like to provide a link to the WAVE report for your page, simply link to http://wave.webaim.org/refer from your web page or link to http://wave.webaim.org/report?url=YOUR URL HERE to process any URL explicitly.
For a quick and easy method of evaluating web pages in WAVE, you can install the following bookmarklet. It will add an item to your button to your Bookmarks/Links/Favorites menu and/or toolbar. After installing the bookmarklet, simply browse to the web page you want to evaluate, click the bookmarklet button, and the page will be submitted to WAVE for evaluation.
To install the bookmarket, simply drag the image to the left to your Links or Bookmarks toolbar. Or you can right click on the image and select "Bookmark this link" or "Add to Favorites".
WAVE can be integrated into many other development tools. Simply program the tool to process http://wave.webaim.org/report?url=YOUR URL HERE.
For instance, to add WAVE as an available tool in the Web Developer Toolbar, select Tools, Edit Tools..., Add..., type a short Description, select URL, then enter http://wave.webaim.org/report?url= as the URL. WAVE will now be available on the toolbar - simply select Tools and then your new WAVE item to process the current page in WAVE.
